Purpose:ÌýThe purpose of the Norman Cutler Outstanding Graduate Leadership Award is to provide support to a graduate student in the Kinesiology program who aspires to a career in the area of adapted physical activity. Candidates will be chosen by a committee comprised of Kinesiology Faculty and staff of theÌýCenter of Achievement.

Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • Leadership Ability
  • Academic Performance Clinical Performance

Purpose:ÌýThe purpose of the Marian Cutler and Lucille Grubman Outstanding Graduate Research Award is to provide support to a graduate student in the Kinesiology program who aspires to a career in the area of adapted physical activity. Candidates will be chosen by a committee comprised of Kinesiology FacultyÌýand staff of theÌýCenter of Achievement.

Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • Quality of Research Proposal
  • Development of Research Methods Academic Performance
  • Clinical Performance

Purpose:ÌýThe purpose of the Leslie and Terry Cutler Kinesiology Scholarship is to provide support to an undergraduate student working in the Center of Achievement and who aspires to a career in adapted physical activity. Candidates will be chosen by a committee comprised of Kinesiology Faculty and staff of the Center. Recipients must be in their senior year and have demonstrated financial need and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • Service and leadership to the Center, Department, Âé¶¹AV, Community, Profession
  • Clinical and Instructional Skills
  • Academic Performance
  • Participation in Clinical Research Projects
  • Demonstration of Professional Development
  • Personal Experience and Financial Need

Purpose: The purpose of the Susan and Raymond Tartakoff Kinesiology Scholarship is to provide support to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the University’s Department of Kinesiology program working in the Center of Achievement and who aspires to a career in adapted physical activity or physical rehabilitation. Candidates will be chosen by a committee comprised of Kinesiology Faculty and staff of the Center. Recipients must be either accepted to or enrolled in the graduate program, have demonstrated financial need, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • Service & Leadership to the Center, Department, Âé¶¹AV, Community & Profession
  • Clinical and Instructional Skills
  • Academic Performance
  • Participation in Clinical Research Projects
  • Demonstration of Professional Development
  • Personal Experience and Financial Need

Purpose:ÌýThe purpose of the Laurence and Ethel Young Scholarship is to provide support to a student in the Kinesiology program who aspires to a career in the field. Candidates will be chosen by a committee comprised of Kinesiology Faculty and staff.

Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • Leadership Ability
  • Academic Performance

Purpose:ÌýThe purpose of the Ruth Shiffrar Scholarship is to provide support to a student working toward a credential or masters in kinesiology withÌýaspirations to become a physical education teacher. Students must be passionate about physical education and helping children, and be community-builders among physical education teachers and students.

Applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • Financial need
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Experience in/or participation in physical education opportunities
  • Demonstration of leadership skills and professional development

Purpose:ÌýThe purpose of the Arnett Scholarship is to provide support to a student in the Kinesiology program who aspires to aÌýcareer in the area ofÌýKinesiology and Physical education. Candidates will beÌýchosen by a committee comprised of Kinesiology Faculty.

Eligibility is contingent upon:

  • Graduation from Âé¶¹AV with a baccalaureate degree in Kinesiology within the past two academic years
  • Acceptance by the Graduate School and the Master's program in Kinesiology
  • Completion of sixty units of course work at Âé¶¹AV and in the top ten percent of graduating students majoring in Kinesiology
  • Demonstration of leadership qualities in campus activities including athletics or intramurals and evidenced good citizenship at Âé¶¹AV
