Getting Started and Planning Ahead:聽The core mission of all Writing Project sites is to improve writing and the teaching of writing by providing a broad array of programs, including professional development programs for teachers.

As we build our capacity here at the Cal State Northridge Writing Project, we hope to provide a further range of programs and activities targeted to the specific interests and needs of teachers in the greater Los Angeles area. These programs might include open-enrollment summer institutes, teacher inquiry groups, assessment workshops, emergent literacy programs, writing across the curriculum programs, support for new teachers, publications, national networking, retreats for teacher leaders, and on-site support.
