Women, Infants & Children (WIC) is a supplemental nutrition program funded by federal grants to helpÌýprenatal and postpartumÌýwomen, infants, and children under the age of five. Participants receive one-on-one nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthcareÌýand communityÌýreferrals,Ìýand a WIC food benefit cardÌýto purchase healthy foodsÌýatÌýlocal grocery stores. To enroll, proof of income, current address,Ìýidentification card,Ìýand proof ofÌýpregnancyÌý(if applicable)ÌýareÌýneededÌýat theÌýinitial visit. A part-time WIC office is located on the Âé¶¹AV campus in Sequoia Hall Room 113. This office is open to all Âé¶¹AV students, staff, or faculty members, and the surrounding community. This office is operated byÌýNortheast Valley Health Corporation,Ìýa private, non-profit community-based organization who also operate (8) additional WIC offices in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys.Ìý

Âé¶¹AV found 41.6% of it's students reported food insecurity, making WIC an important tool.
